Owned by Monique Stokes and Latoya Stuckey, the Slique Hair Studio is a bright and spacious modern salon experience based in Harlem. We specialize in short hair cuts and styles, weaves and natural hair care. We understand that each client is special and we strive to celebrate and nurture their uniqueness, at the same time helping them to look and feel their best.

With the privilege of serving the Harlem community for well over 10 years, we make it a priority to focus on providing quality service and customer satisfaction.  

With over 30 years of experience, Master Stylist, Celebrity Stylist and Owner of Slique Hair Studio, Monique Stokes has always aspired to have her own salon and opened Slique in March of 2009 in Harlem, New York City. Monique takes great pleasure in using her creativity and strong eye for trends to help her clients feel confident and gorgeous.

Monique is fully certified including additional certifications in beauty and makeup services, Patric Bradley techniques and Design Essential techniques. She has styled R&B recording artist Monifah, Dawn Robinson from En Vogue, Crystal Hunt from the Guiding Light, Rap artist Babs, Sarah Stokes from Making the Band, Candice Roach from Hustle & Flow, Denzel Washington’s mother Lynne Washington, and Robert De Niro’s daughter  Drena De Niro. Her hair creations have been featured in Essence, Sophisticate’s Black Hair Style and Guide, Hype Hair and Passion Magazines to name a few. Monique proudly showcased Slique Hair Studio at the Circle of Sisters in 2013 and 2014.

Renowned in the Tri-state area for her detailed short precision haircuts and her fabulous hair shows, Monique lives for doing hair. It is her creative outlet and she feels blessed to work with her wonderful clients and salon team on her journey. She is very excited to launch her own product line Slique’ Hair Care in Spring 2018.
